A Family Church's

Community Involvement

  • Camp Destiny

Camp Destiny is a 5-day residential camp serving at-risk children. Since 1991, an all-volunteer staff has spent a week during Spring Break with up to 75 disadvantaged children teaching them the basic interpersonal skills they need to develop positive relationships.  Conflict resolution, wise decision-making and anger management are themes that run throughout the camp. In 2007, we served 75 children at our 5-day residential camp. We utilized 25 volunteers and attracted at-risk children from 18 different elementary schools

Angel Tree Christmas provides Christmas present for children who have an  incarcerated parent. In 2007, A Family Church was responsible for sponsoring 183 children in need with a cost totaling approximately $3660.00

  • Volunteer Service Hours

A Family Church believes in a gospel that is socially relevant and impacts it's community.  Therefore, there are not many members who are not involved in some form of community service.  In 2007, A Family Church (through its non-profit social service component, A Family Focus) gave a total of 7,924 hours of community hours to make a difference in our community.

In 2007, a faith based half-way house was opened.  Restoration House will help men regain their dignity by providing them with the support they need to restore ALL that their addiction has robbed them of.  Once house manager and.
